My Brother

I have nasty war experiences i want to share with you guys.....
i was, however, a small boy of 12 yrs...I had a favourite cousin brother of mine kwedu kwaGandanzara village, kwaMakoni district, kwaRusape....my cousin brother had been enlisted in the Rhodesian Army ya Ian Smith for 3 yrs.
VanaMukoma (maComrades) instructed our family that we should warn my cousine bro to resign immediately from the army of which he immediately did after getting the warning and he got work at Lobels Bakery (kubika chngwa). Having worked for just over a year, 1978, Xmas, my bro decided to visit us for Xmas, fearing nothing since he had complied with the Cdes's instruction.
As soon as he disembarked from the Dangirwa bus at the Damba Store bus stop, he was swooped away by vanaMujibha, guys he had grown up with in the village. They took him to maKomuredhi...they were asked why they had brought my bro, to which they replied that vanga vabata "mupuruvheya" (Rhodesian soldier).
My bro produced his original resignation papers and proof of his employment with Lobels. Makomureds then instructed the vanamujibha to take him back fm where they had taken him from....
On the way, since they knew my bro would tell everyone that they had wanted him killed, they slaughtered him like a helpless cow...and buried him in a shallow grave mumapuranga...A village lady who wa gathering firewood saw my bro but not yet dead with his head out of the grave....he had been struggling to get out...but unfortunately, the lady panicked and ran away until 4 days later when my bro started appearing every night in her dreams crying...then she panicked again and reported the matter to my parents....who approached the sabhuku, who together approached macomrades....
The comrades were extremly angry and called in vanamujibha vaya who denied that they had done anything to my bro....Tell you what...one Comrade who is still alive: "Hondo ichapera, muchakaura nengozi vakomana imi...hameno zvenyu...but mark my words..."
To cut the long story...in 1984, when i was doing "O" level, calamity struck the 5 families of the vana mujibhas...one day all cattle would die in one evening...etc....and finally they paid each family 40 cattle and a young virgin girl (10 yrs) by the head mujibha's family...all the mujibhas are now late....but fortunately, that Section Commander of the that group of Comrades is alive and serving the ZNA....he gave me details of what exactly transpired as i was still very young....i traced him through one other comrade from the same section who married my elder sister...iam still pained by the fact that my bro could be alive now.....worse still still he was about to marry his childhood sweartheart that very xstmas....worse again, all the money he had brought to marry the girl vanished into thin air!..
The girl she wanted to marry that fateful xstmas was later married by one village man closely related to one of the mujibhas...iamgine!
